Low Pressure Membrane Technologies

BC Water & Waste Association
The course covers theory and applications of membrane technologies for drinking water treatment. Implementation considerations and other applications (i.e. wastewater treatment and reuse) are also introduced. The course is structured to provide opportunities to learn the fundamental principles governing the performance of membrane systems, and to apply this fundamental theory to optimize the performance of membrane systems and to address operational challenges.
Exercises with computer models are used to supplement the course notes. All the necessary background information needed to understand the fundamental theory is provided. Consequently, the course is relevant to all water treatment professionals including treatment system operators, design engineers, as well as medical health officers and managers interested in membrane technologies.
