Short Description:
The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) developed a communications plan, to engage the Williams Lake and fringe area communities regarding a proposed major renovation of the Sam Ketcham Pool (SKP) at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex. The pool, is in dire need of a major renovation due to  aging infrastructure. The best option identified by the consultants and community members, would be a major renovation which would cost approximately $11.3 million.  The referendum communications plan kicked off January, 2014 with the new SKP referendum Facebook page. Over the past five years the usage and accessibility to high speed connectivity has grown dramatically, and many residents are using Facebook as their means of receiving local information instantaneously. Our mission; create an online platform which gave residents an opportunity to obtain accurate information and ask questions at their leisure, in order for them to make an informed decision at the polls!
