Short Description:
The Columbia Basin-Boundary Regional Broadband Project is an innovative project developed to take advantage of new Federal Government funding to improve and extend rural high speed internet to over 11,000 households in the region. The Regional Broadband Committee, formed in June 2013, is a collaborative partnership between five local governments and the Ktunaxa Nation Council.  When the opportunity arose to secure government funding to help implement their strategic plan, the Regional Broadband Committee joined forces with the Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation, a subsidiary of Columbia Basin Trust, and 12 Internet Service Providers (ISP) in the area.  The vision of the partnership is to create equitable, affordable high speed broadband and Internet services throughout the region in order to ensure rural economic development and sustainable, healthy communities.
