TransLink Employees Deliver Almost 3000 Toys for Kids in Need

TransLink

VANCOUVER - On December 14th, TransLink and its operating companies delivered nearly 3,000 unwrapped toys to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau, as part of the 32nd annual Toys for Tots program.

Since the launch of the program, employees have donated 78,470 toys to the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.

As part of the Toys for Tots program, employees from TransLink, Coast Mountain Bus Company, BC Rapid Transit Company and Transit Police donated two busloads of toys to local children in need.

TransLink’s Toys for Tots was created in 1985 by eight BC Transit bus operators. The group wanted to give back to the community during the holidays. The program exceeded expectations and quickly became popular with other operators. From then on, the tradition has carried onto TransLink and its operating companies.
