City of Trail Ready for Grand Opening of the Trail Regional Airport Terminal Building

City of Trail

TRAIL – The City of Trail’s grand opening of the new Trail Regional Airport terminal building is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 3:00 pm. The event will take place inside the new building and will include dignitary speeches, a ribbon cutting, light refreshments and a chance to win a Trail / Vancouver return flight on Pacific Coastal Airlines. The public is welcome to attend. View the invitation here.

“A new terminal building has been a necessity for our airport for a long time,” said Councillor Kevin Jolly, Chair of the Airport Steering Committee. “We are excited to open the facility and we are very thankful of the province’s $1.18 million in BC Air Access Program funding to help bring the project to fruition.”

“Our airports are a vital link in our transportation system, and we’re pleased to support the Trail Regional Airport through BC Air Access funding,” said Claire Trevena, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. “The terminal building upgrade will improve the travelling experience for those visiting or commuting to Trail, and will offer a positive first impression when they arrive in this community.”

The new 4,200 square foot building is spacious and bright and provides ample seating, a business centre, a kids corner, plenty of parking and designated passenger pick-up and drop-off zones.

“We accommodate nearly 22,000 passengers yearly, and this number is growing,” said Jolly. “Trail’s airport is a critical amenity for our region’s transportation network and we look forward to providing convenient, reliable and affordable air service through our improved infrastructure.”
