Neighbourhood Small Grants is Vancouver Foundation’s unique partnership program that helps build community and strengthen connections right where people live. We distribute funds to qualified organizations, who administer the grants to individuals. Grants usually range from $50 to $500, however occasionally grants are made for up to $1,000.
A community garden, a canning workshop, an intergenerational storytelling project, a street party, or a book exchange - these are just some of the amazing ideas by residents we fund each year in partnership with local community-based organizations.

How it works

Grants are given to projects that connect and engage residents, share skills and knowledge within the community, build a sense of ownership and pride, and respect and celebrate diversity.
A simple online application is all you need to do. Resident advisory committees make all final grant decisions, leaving community building in the hands of the people that know best – your community.

Most communities across the lower mainland open for application in March and early April. Applications in these communities are now closed.
