Abstract:
This report provides guidance for communities who want to improve watershed health, build rainwater resilience, and ensure sustainable service delivery. Beyond the Guidebook is filled with graphics and examples, and written to meet the needs of different types of users. Part A caters to ‘the busy reader’ looking for an overview of how the built environment can be designed to restore watershed health. Part B helps those looking to better understand the regulatory context for stormwater management in BC. Part C guides users through the Water Sustainability Action Plan for BC and gives examples of how champions with the right tools can help reverse the trend towards environmental degradation. Part D speaks to water, land use and infrastructure professionals, and showcases an example of local government champions collaborating to reach a shared watershed health goal in the Georgia Basin.
