We’re seeking motivated individuals with an eye for detail to join the Public Safety & Community Department at the RCMP as File Reviewers. You’re determined and enthusiastic, giving it your all because you know a job well-done has the greatest impact on your community. Being meticulous and observant comes second nature to you, which is especially important as you’ll be required to review documents with accuracy and efficiency. The Public Safety & Community Department at the RCMP is a highly accountable and responsible division and candidates with these qualities will find great success here. Your responsibilities include: reading new occurrence files in PRIME to determine circumstances surrounding and nature of occurrence and appropriate processing method; reviewing files to ensure completeness and accuracy; retrieving and verifying information entered by other staff into PRIME and prepare, scan, process, file and maintain a variety of files, records, reports and related material, amongst other duties. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include completion of grade 12, including or supplemented by commercial, typing, computer operator courses plus sound related experience, preferably in a police department or an equivalent combination of training and experience. You’ve also got experience with customer service and working in an office environment. Your passion for law enforcement has resulted in you gaining sound knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing the work performed. You’re skilled with clerical work and record keeping, and can handily write in Business English, perform basic math and perform basic office related functions. You have the ability to read occurrence files to determine circumstances surrounding and nature of occurrence, determine offences reportable to Statistics Canada, and assign and record OSR and UCR codes according to prescribed rules. Communication is one of your strong suits as you’ll have to relay factual information regarding file content to internal and external contacts in accordance with department policy. You’ve also got sound computer skills and can operate basic software. This is your opportunity to use your unique skills to make a difference in your community. The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.

Schedule: This is an auxiliary position with shifts dependent on operational requirements. The hours can range from 4-8.33 hour shifts, between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, with operations 7 days a week and weekend shifts are required. Hours can range from part time up to full time.
