Recreation Worker 3 - Seniors Leader


Seniors Services is in need of a dynamic and energetic auxiliary Seniors Leader (Recreation Worker 3) to facilitate Seniors Lounge at Queensborough Community Centre and təməsew̓txʷ Community Centre. You will work closely with the Assistant Program Coordinators – Senior Services, to encourage seniors to be active and social in their community through seniors programs, works shops, and special events.

If you have some of the following characteristics and qualifications, we want to hear from you:

  • You have completed courses in Community Recreation, Gerontology, Social Services or a related field.
  • You have experience or looking to gain experience engaging with seniors 50+ in a recreation environment.
  • You have knowledge and experience working with vulnerable populations and created inclusive safe spaces
  • You possess strong leadership and conflict resolution skills with the ability to be an effective team player.
  • You have the ability to handle diverse situations with seniors from a variety of backgrounds.
  • You have a valid First Aid Level 1 certificate.
  • You will be required to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.


*Hours of work are 3- 10 hours per week, with the possibility of more with growth of programs.
