The City of Burnaby is seeing individuals to work in our play-based preschool programs.  These contract employment opportunities involve leading or assisting social preschool programs for children ages 3 through 5, parent and tot programs for children ages 1 through 5, as well as many specialty programs including art, music & movement, newcomer groups, science and preschool sports and gym activities. 

Applicants must hold a current Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate or be a student training for ECE or have comparable experience in the field.  Applicants must be fluent (written and oral) in English and must also hold a current Emergency First Aid with CPR C or 8-hour + equivalent first aid training.  This work is suitable for individuals seeking occasional and/or part-time seasonal work.  Benefits include ongoing professional development and mentorship, scheduling to meet individual needs and the opportunity to work with a dynamic and creative team of leaders and supervisors.  Our programs have a reputation in the community for excellence, inclusion, and fun. Pay Rate: $24.50 – 29.00 per hour.

Locations: Bonsor Recreation Complex, Edmonds Community Centre, Cameron Recreation Complex, South East area, South west area, North west area, Willingdon Community Centre, Eileen Daily Pool, Christine Sinclair Community Centre

Hours of work: 2.5-3 hour shifts 1-5 times a week.  Hours and shifts may vary depending on registration and coverage.
