Recreation Facilities Maintenance Technician


(PERMANENT FULL-TIME)
 
The City of Trail’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a motivated, team oriented individual to fill the full-time position of Recreation Facilities Maintenance Technician.
 
Reporting to the Recreation Facilities Maintenance Foreman, the Recreation Facilities Maintenance Technician assists with the operation of City’s parks and recreational facilities. This position requires excellent customer service skills and strong mechanical aptitude. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of recreational facility operations including building trades, ice maintenance, refrigeration plant operation, pool systems operation, and park, playground and playing field maintenance.
 
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within recreational facilities
  • Valid 4th Class Power Engineer certification
  • Level 1 Ice Technician
  • Pool Operator Levels 1 and 2
  • Building Service Worker Certification
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1
  • Current WHMIS Training
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification
  • Minimum High School Diploma (Grade 12 or GED)
  • Valid BC Driver’s Licence
  • Required to obtain criminal record clearance

This position is within the CUPE Local 2087 Bargaining Unit and may involve evening and weekend work. Wage is currently $37.23 per hour (2023 rate) and benefits are as per the Collective Agreement.
