Manager of Community Bylaw Services


Permanent Full-Time

The District of Squamish has an exciting opportunity for a community-minded individual to bring their strategic leadership skills, professionalism and expertise to a team that is passionate about making a difference. As an integral member of our leadership team, your expertise will be invaluable in the oversight of the Bylaw Services department.  Reporting to the General Manager of Public Safety, this position will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations and administration of the Bylaw Enforcement and Animal Control functions in the department. This is a permanent, full-time position that plays an important role fostering positive relationships throughout the District of Squamish and actively contributing to initiatives that enhance safety and compliance with municipal bylaws.

Who you are: Our ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in public safety, public/business administration, local government legislative services or a related discipline; RCMP Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one); training in conflict resolution, de-escalation, and/or mediation skills; experience working and managing in a unionized environment; five years of management experience in municipal bylaw services and/or legislative services or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
