Parks Labourer – Park Facility Operations

SCOPE 
Park Facility Operations is looking for temporary full-time individuals, working in an active and energetic high paced work environment, within the Parks Facility Operations team. This temporary employment will be from December 2022 to May 2023, working 40 hours per week, including statutory holidays and weekend work.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS 
Union - CUPE Local 402 - Temporary Full-Time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Among other general labourer duties, perform manual and semi-skilled cleaning tasks within City parks washrooms including:
    • Cleaning and mopping floors.
    • Cleaning wall surfaces.
    • Cleaning toilets and sinks.
    • Applying various cleaning solutions as directed.
    • Litter pickup.
    • Refuse removal.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Able to work alone for extended periods.
  • Possess competent teamwork skills when necessary and have the ability to communicate effectively, particularly when dealing with the public.
  • Complete required work regardless of condition of facility, requiring sufficient physical strength, stamina, and coordination.


QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
  • Have relevant experience performing manual labour.
  • Be able to complete work in a variety of site conditions.
  • Related cleaning and maintenance experience are considered assets.

Pay Grade
: Schedule "C" Hourly Rate: $29.89
