The Government of Canada is investing $120 billion over the next 10 years to build strong, inclusive and sustainable communities and they want to hear from you. Phase 1 is already underway, and now the Government of Canada is inviting you to share your views on Phase 2 of Canada’s infrastructure plan.

The Government of Canada is particularly interested in your thoughts on four important themes:

2017 CAMA Conference & Annual General Meeting – Gatineau, QC - HOTEL ROOM BLOCK OPEN
The 46th Annual CAMA Conference will be held in Gatineau, Québec at the Hilton Lac Leamy Hotel from Monday, May 29th to Wednesday, May 31st, 2017. The Golf Tournament and other Pre-Conference activities will begin on Monday morning with the Conference Program ending after the President’s Dinner on Wednesday evening.
CAMA has secured a block of rooms at the Hilton Lac Leamy located at 3 Casino Boulevard. A deposit equal to the first night's stay will be charged at time of booking. If cancelled on/before April 21st, 2017 the deposit will be refunded. If cancelled on/after April 22nd, 2017 the first night’s deposit will be forfeited.
Saskatchewan Members: Nominations Now Open for the Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service
Nominations will be open until August 31 for the 2016 Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service.
Individuals or teams from provincial government ministries as well as various Treasury Board Crown corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible as nominees.
"On a daily basis, public servants diligently serve the people of Saskatchewan," Premier Brad Wall said. "This award is a way to honour their exceptional efforts. I encourage everyone to consider nominating an individual or team that has gone over and above serving the citizens of Saskatchewan."
Nominations can be made by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Award recipients receive a pewter trophy, a lapel pin bearing the Saskatchewan coat of arms and a certificate to recognize their achievement.

Town of Kindersley, SK: Winner of the 2016 CAMA Willis Award for Innovation (Under 20,000 population)

The Town of Kindersley, SK has received national recognition for its Waste Water Project from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA). The Town was presented with the 2016 CAMA Willis Award for Innovation, in the Under 20,000 population category, during CAMA’s national conference in Winnipeg, MB.
Steadily escalating water consumption was being recorded at the Kindersley Water Treatment Facility. While this was due in part to an increasing population, there was also an extensive strain being placed on the facility by local fracking companies who were drawing on large amounts of treated water for their service needs.
The result was increased water consumption that not only cut into Kindersley’s supply of potable water, but also affected the time required for the water treatment facility to replenish the potable water supply. Following a Request for Proposal process, Kindersley partnered with Holland’s Hot Oiling to construct and install a wastewater storage reservoir. All construction, installation and permit costs were paid for by Holland’s.
The new reservoir station began operation in August 2014, with revenue being shared between the two parties. The reservoir is expected to generate $500,000 for the municipality over a five-year period.
The project will allow for diminished strain on Kindersley’s water treatment infrastructure; greater environmental stewardship of a priority natural resource; and, municipal ownership and management of the waste water infrastructure after five years, all at no additional cost to taxpayers. In addition, the project supports the sustainability of oil and gas operations in the Kindersley region with less negative impact to water resources.
