Short Description:
The Delta Trades & Technical Career Fair was started by Mayor Lois E. Jackson in 2013 to inspire students to pursue a variety of career options in the trades and technical areas.  The annual event, held at Sungod Recreation Centre, provides an opportunity for students and the general public to explore trades and technical careers through interactive, hands-on exhibits, guest speaker presentations and demonstrations, and local employer booths.  The third annual event in 2015 featured over 90 exhibits with experts in a variety of fields, including culinary arts, mechanics, hair and esthetics, aviation, technology, plumbing, masonry, policing and much more. More than 3,500 people attended the 2015 Delta Trades & Technical Career Fair, including students from the Delta School District, their parents, new Canadians, and members of the public who are unemployed or underemployed.   For a short video of highlights from the 2015 event visit
