Short Description:

With growing demand for transparency, accountability and citizen participation in policy making and service provision, engagement         between citizens and local governments, is increasingly important. The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has always engaged its citizens in a variety of traditional ways.  In 2015 the Engage! Web page was launched on the PRRD website to further enhance opportunities for public engagement. It is the source for information about public engagement initiatives at the Peace River Regional District. This digital engagement tool assists the PRRD in broadening its reach and to identify and respond to emerging issues. Recognizing the rapidly growing expectations for prompt and easily accessible information, and convenient modes of interaction, the Engage! Web page integrates an online service with other traditional engagement methods. This online tool has helped broaden the public participation & citizen engagement experience for the citizens of the PRRD.
