Northern Rockies Regional Municipality to Host 2018 NCLGA Convention

Northern Rockies Regional Municipality

FORT NELSON – The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM) is excited to host the 2018 North Central Local Government Association (NCLGA) Annual General Meeting and Convention from May 8-10, 2018 in Fort Nelson, BC.

The northernmost municipality in BC will host community leaders from across the North for three days of engaging discussions on everything from increasing municipal revenues, to asset management, to the effects of legalized marijuana on communities. Optional tours have been designed to share Fort Nelson’s culture, Northern Rockies experiences, and local stories. The Convention itself will provide attendees with updates from Northern Development Initiative Trust, the Municipal Finance Authority and Northern Health among others, aiming to inspire delegates to take back what they have learned to their own communities for continued growth and success on “The Road Ahead”.

“With our incredible Recreation Centre and unique story to tell, we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome our friends and neighbors from local government to Fort Nelson next May” notes NCLGA board member and Regional Councillor Lorraine Gerwing.

The 2018 NCLGA Convention is expected to be the largest event in the NCLGA’s 63-year history.  With limited space, it is anticipated that the event will sell out.
