Economic Development Training Bursary and Travel Subsidy

Description

As part of ICET’s ongoing commitment to support increased participation in economic development training, ICET will be offering a limited number of bursaries and travel subsidies to attend economic development training.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be located in the ICET Region.
  • Applicants must be actively involved in economic development in their community, First Nation or organization or be entering or transitioning to an economic development role.
  • This is a needs-based program and preference will be given to applicants who would otherwise not be able to attend training without a bursary.
  • For travel subsidies, applicants must face travel cost barriers to attend economic development training courses or workshops.
  • For registration bursaries, eligible training includes focused, short term economic development training programs such as training courses and certification programs offered by British Columbia Economic Development Association (BCEDA), Economic Development Association of Canada (EDAC), International Economic Development Council (IEDC) or short term community economic development programs. Courses taken in the context of a post-secondary degree program are not eligible.

Funding

  • Tuition and travel up to a maximum of $1000.
  • Travel only up to a maximum of $300.
  • Eligible expenses will be reimbursed upon completion of economic development training and submission of paid tuition receipt and/or travel expense receipts.

Application Period.

The training bursaries will be awarded to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis until program is fully allocated.
