2016 Family Day Grants

BC Recreation and Parks Association
The Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, in partnership with the BCRPA, has made one-time first-come-first-served grants available in the amount of $1,000 to support Family Day events.

he BCRPA invites you to re-brand an existing event, or create a special one in celebration of this year’s Family Day - Feb 8th, 2016.

In order to qualify for a grant you must meet the following criteria:
  • You are a municipal or regional district recreation department, or First Nations community
Your event is:
  • Held during the Family Day long weekend – Feb 5,6, 7, or 8
  • Admission-free
  • Family oriented
  • Branded as a “Family Day” event
Other important things to know:
  • We will award one grant per event location
  • The grant is intended to cover costs for: participant fees, facility fees, equipment, staffing, refreshments, etc
  • You must acknowledge the financial support of the Provincial Government (through logo and copy "We acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia") in any event promotional material
  • You will be required to submit a post-event report - guidelines will be included with grant cheques
  • Your event will be posted on both the BCRPA Family Day Community Event Listing page and the Province's BC Family Day site.
Grant Application Deadline:  4:30 pm PST on February 4th, or as grant funds remain available. 

You will be notified within 2 business days of the status of your application.
