Joint Health & Safety Training

Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC
March 20, 2019
7:30 am - 4:30 pm

The Joint Health and Safety Committee is an integral part of a safety management system. As part of the continual improvement process, your committee is the communication hub between workers and management. Effective committees provide valuable safety advice and recommendations to the employer on how to control health and safety risks in the workplace. They also provide support to workers and supervisors in incident investigations, workplace inspections and refusals of unsafe work.

This course is intended for:
  • Newly elected employer and worker committee representatives, supervisors, or management representatives as part of their mandatory eight-hour training; or
  • Professional development as part of JHSC committee members’ entitled educational leave.
This Joint Health and Safety Committee course meets the eight-hour training requirement for new committee members in the WorkSafeBC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation Part 3.27.
