Accounts Payable Coordinator
Regular Full-Time
If you are detail-oriented, organized and have a knack for numbers, come join our Finance team! As the Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will carry out all aspects of the accounts payable function while delivering outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
In addition to having knowledge of the basic financial functions, regulations, and rules governing municipal operations, the successful candidate will possess solid computer skills, extensive knowledge of regulations governing expenditures and purchasing practices.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Prepares reviews, enters, and posts journal entries.
- Prepares reconciliations of the accounts payable sub ledger and generates reports related to the accounts payable function.
- Maintains security and control over cheque signing software and financial instruments, ensuring cheques are authorized for release and controlling distribution.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of internal reports, records and files specific to the accounts payable functions.
- Performs other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
Who you are: Our ideal candidate will have their Business Administration Diploma with an accounting focus from a recognized University or College and 4 years’ experience in a high-volume finance environment in accounts payable role. Experience in Local Government is an Asset.

On top of our hourly rate - $31.18 (2021 rates) this position is also eligible for comprehensive benefits, paid vacation and one of Canada’s top pension plans – the Municipal Pension Plan after 455 hours worked. This position is also eligible for a compressed work week which allows for an earned day off every second week.
