The Information Technology (IT) Department has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst 2: Project Business Analyst - Digital Services and ERP Modernization (BA2) to join the Business Relationship Management (BRM) team. This BA2 position, operating within IT’s BRM team, supports Digital Services and Enterprise Resource Planning initiatives (ERP). Reporting to the IT Team Lead, the BA2 is responsible for detailed business analysis, outlining problems, designing, configuring and deploying modern solutions across a number of critical projects in the IT portfolio to digitize & automate business processes and modernize our ERP applications. In the course of this engagement, you will lead analysis work on diverse IT initiatives such as new cloud based solutions, deploying new digital services, and business process re-engineering. This position also ensures client requirements and priorities are understood and met throughout the systems development life cycle (SDLC). Knowing and understanding industry best practices, approaches to business challenges and their relation to systems solutions is an important part of your work.

The BA2 interacts with Project Managers and cross-functional project teams, supporting the development of business requirements, business processes and procedures, unit tests and module walkthroughs; helps prepare end user training material; conducts gap and capabilities analyses; coordinates user reviews of configured applications; prepares and maintains a variety of reports and records including business processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and business cases; defect documentation and troubleshooting; performs research, information assembly, organization and facilitation of business workshops and related documentation. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include completion of a university degree at the Bachelor’s level in Business Administration, Computer Science Information Systems or a related discipline and sound related experience in business analysis, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of problem definition and analysis applicable to business processes and systems planning; of information technology components, of IT and business strategic roadmaps; of administrative principles and practices, The role requires at least 5 years of experience implementing SaaS and COTS products in a hybrid of business solutions. Also required is experience as a digital strategist, of implementing data-driven digital service initiatives or of large scale Cloud based ERP transformation. Knowledge of business processes and configuration of SAP’s ERP system an asset.

Prior knowledge and experience with business analysis within a municipal environment, process modeling, cost benefit analysis, change management, LEAN Six Sigma and business process re-engineering is desirable.
