Engineering Co-op Student

The City of Penticton’s Engineering and Design Department is in search of keen and enthusiastic applicants for a four-month Engineering Co-op Student placement. Penticton’s Engineering and Design team endeavors to deliver well integrated services and ensure that City infrastructure is well planned and functional. Assignments for this term may include items such as updating construction records and various databases, preparing documents for capital projects, inspections, addressing transportation related issues, assisting with survey work in addition to liaising with members of the public.

The successful applicant will have completed a minimum of the first year of either a Bachelor of Applied Science or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. Considerable experience working in software such as AutoCad Civil3D or ArcMap would be considered an asset. Those wishing to obtain this role must be in possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with the ability to maintain it.

The hourly wage for this position will be $19-46 – 21.08 per hour (Pay Grade 12, CUPE) plus 14% in lieu of all benefits. The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.
