North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. You will be an integral part of our dedicated Fitness team who continually strive to make a difference in the recreation and cultural lives of North Vancouver residents.   

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
You will be delivering excellent customer service experiences by providing personal training, fitness testing and weight room orientation for facility users. You will promote health and wellness related programs and services and provide advice, guidance and referral services relative to health, fitness and wellness matters.

ABOUT YOU
You are a courteous and effective team player committed to community. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships. You will promote interest and participation in fitness activities while ensuring maintenance and safe use of weight room equipment. You have a sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of fitness and weight training programs and experience with various types of fitness and weight training equipment. You are able to evaluate fitness levels, develop individual weight training and fitness programs and monitor progress of clients.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Completion of a university program and related experience in a weight room, rehabilitation or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
  • St. John Ambulance First Aid Certificate or equivalent and CPR Certificate - Level A
  • Registered with BCRPA Fitness Leadership Registration Program or approved equivalent.

This is an auxiliary on-call position involving shift work including days, evenings and weekends. The pay for this unionized position ranges between $27.45 and $32.25.

All employees will be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location. All candidates are required to submit a Police Information Check as a requirement of the position.
