The City of Burnaby is seeking individuals to work in our play based outdoor nature preschool program. This contract employment opportunity is to lead outdoor nature preschool programs for children ages 3½ through 5. Instructors will be responsible to lead a child-directed, experiential education program and to facilitate outdoor learning opportunities. The program will take place entirely outdoors in an urban forest setting. This program will run two mornings a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Applicants must be licensed early childhood educators or have comparable experience in the field. Applicants must have successfully completed grade 12, an Emergency First Aid certificate (8+ hour equivalent) with CPR ‘C’ and be fluent (written and oral) in English. A passion for exploring the outdoors and outdoor education experience is an asset. Work is suitable to individuals seeking occasional and/or part time seasonal work, hours are based on registration.
