Accounting Clerk II

(Part Time)
Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity to utilize your exceptional accounting skills? Our Finance Department is seeking a precise, industrious professional to join their team.

You will perform a variety of accounting and customer service functions, in compliance with prescribed policies, procedures and standard accounting practices. Specifically, you will carry out a variety of accounting tasks related to accounts receivable (property taxes and utilities); create and maintain related reports and information, assist with the administration of general ledger and sub ledger accounts including reconciliations; post payments and assist as cashier as required; prepare and post journal entries; and respond to a variety of customer inquiries.

The ideal candidate must have high school graduation supplemented by completion of a recognized Certificate in an Accounting discipline, along with having two years’ experience in a demanding financial office environment, including experience in accounts receivable and payable, subsidiary ledgers, account reconciliation and analysis up to and including trial balance level. Along with your considerable knowledge of the principles, procedures, policies and regulations applicable to professional accounting practices, you must be self-motivated and task-orientated with advanced proficiency in MS Office, MAIS or similar financial software and have knowledge of EDP systems and procedures.
The 2019 wage rate for this position is $32.22 per hour. The part-time schedule* fluctuates over the year from working two, four-hour shifts per week to working full-time June through August on a nine-day fortnight (9 days every two weeks). This schedule is subject to change based on operational requirements.

* Annual Schedule:

October through April – Monday & Tuesday, 4 hours per day
May and September – Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day, 9 day fortnight
June through August – Monday through Friday, full-time hours, 9 day fortnight
