Accounts Payable Clerk

Pay Grade 5 - ($28.00/hour- January 1, 2019 Rate)

Applications are invited to fill a vacancy for the position of Accounts Payable Clerk in the Financial Services Department at the Municipal Hall. This is a Union position represented by CUPE Local 374.

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Financial Services the Accounts Payable Clerk performs all data processing related to accounts payable and the duties of cashier. The position ensures accurate and timely completion of all clerical works pertaining to the processing of purchase orders, invoices, cheque issuance, account coding and application of rebates and credits.

The successful applicant will have completed Grade 12 and supplemented by courses in basic accounting and bookkeeping. A minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable and cashier work in a comparable work environment involving contact with customers is required. Our ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of accounts payable practices, will be able to deal courteously with the public and demonstrate an ability to organize workload and meet established deadlines.
