Human Resources Advisor
We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Human Resources Advisor to join our Human Resources team.
You will be responsible for providing exceptional HR support as a member of a team of nine Administrative and Human Resources professionals. Through a client group model, five HR Advisors provide guidance and advice at all levels of the organization on all aspects of human resources, including employee and labour relations matters, recruitment, workplace issues, interpreting and applying collective agreements, HR policies and legislation, occupational, health and safety, disability management and attendance support, maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures, and working on various projects. You will support the HR team through your expertise in job evaluation specifically for unionized positions and working with an HCM/HRIS system. You will work with other stakeholders, such as the Payroll Division and Information Technology Division to further implement and develop our Peoplesoft HCM system. Other duties will involve the participation and completion of surveys, research and project work.
In this specialised HR role, you will rely on your generalist human resources experience as well as your hands on experience in job evaluation and compensation and/or benefits, preferably in a unionised environment. Your portfolio may also include providing general HR support to three agencies. You will find both conventional and creative ways to resolve problems, consider past practices, best practices, and the mutual interest of all stakeholders while maintaining the integrity of the relevant collective agreements, terms and conditions, policies, legislation, benefit plans etc.
You are known for your strong work ethic, superior communication and interpersonal skills, strong analytic and problem-solving capabilities and your demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple and competing demands.
You will have completed at least a two year related post-secondary program, with a minimum of five years experience in job evaluation, compensation and/or benefits experience. Previous experience with Peoplesoft or a similar Human Capital Management System in a multi-union environment is a requirement. Experience in an HR Advisor/Generalist role within a unionized environment would be an advantage. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, an Applicant Tracking System and a Records Management System would be a further advantage.
