The position of General Tradesman reports to the Director of Operations. The position will perform a wide variety of tasks that could include operation of heavy and light equipment, physical labour, etc. The position works an average of 40 hours per week. On call rotational coverage is a requirement, as well as working a rotational weekend schedule with the successful candidate also being required to live within municipal limits.

Applicant should have:
  • Class 3 B.C. Drivers License c/w Air Brake Endorsement
  • Clean Driving Abstract
  • Previous experience in Municipal Infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications would include Level 1 E.O.C.P. Certification in Water Distribution, Water Treatment, Waste Water Collection and Waste Water Treatment. A physical fitness exam is a requirement.

A base rate of $30.67/hour (2018 rate) is offered after completion of a threemonth period of probation. The probationary period rate for the position is $29.17/hour. E.O.C.P. certification levels are compensated at $0.55 per approved level. The District also offers an excellent benefit package.
