We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Assistant in our Recreation & Community Engagement Department.

Are you an experienced and self motivated professional wanting to join a dynamic team?  In this position you will be responsible for leading and/or coordinating a wide variety of marketing and communication functions; compiling, drafting, editing brochures, reports, publications. In this busy role you will liaise with City staff to develop and implement marketing plans, for department projects and initiatives as well as create communication materials and design and/or oversee the development of promotional materials such as brochures, newsletters, website pages.  You will utilize your excellent interpersonal and customer service skills when you manage and respond to feedback and inquiries from staff and the public through our communications email and City Website.  Your ability to foster and maintain effective working relationship with all stakeholders is essential as you work closely with other departments to support their marketing and communications needs. 

Your organization and time management skills along with excellent attention to detail, communication and writing skills are essential to this position.

We are looking for a candidate that has:
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Have the skill to research and deliver offerings that have value for customers, clients, and partners.

Completed grade 12 supplemented by a certificate in graphic design plus sound related experience, preferably with some experience in graphic design or web design, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

A minimum of tow years’ experience in direction operations of a communications and marketing function, preferably in local government;

A solid understand of Adobe Creative Suite Design software, website administration and HTML
Your organization and time management skills along with excellent attention to detail, communication and writing skills are essential to this position.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Police Information Check as a condition of employment. (Note – not required a part of the application process; however, will be required upon consideration for employment)
