Regular Full Time Position
The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced journeyman electrician for trades work in the Facility Operations Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, maintenance and repair, including phone and data lines, at municipal buildings and facilities, and will direct the work of apprentices and others within the trade.
Requirements include minimum grade 12 or equivalent; Certificate of Electrical Apprenticeship and Electrical Trades Qualification Certificate; four years of experience as a TQ Electrician; Electrical Field Safety Representative designation (FSR B); Building Management System training; High Voltage Close Proximity training certification; valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with air endorsement and must pass and maintain the required enhanced reliability security clearance for operational work with the Saanich Police Department. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will be required to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, 40 hours per week.
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $36.11 per hour and an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
