Program & Events Coordinator

(Full-time Position)

 
The District of Taylor is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated individual to fill the position of the Program & Events Coordinator. Reporting to the Community Services Director, the Program and Events Coordinator performs a multitude of functions such as coordinating the delivery of recreation, leisure, social, cultural and general program opportunities. The Program and Events Coordinator plans special events, community programs and services, as well as prepares a variety of correspondence and communications. The Coordinator also acts as a representative of the community and networks with groups, residents, and volunteers to ensure the community’s needs are being met.

The ideal candidate will have strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, and have a degree/diploma in communications, recreation programming, event planning or a related field with a minimum of two years’ related experience, or the equivalency of education and experience combined. It would be considered an asset if the incumbent also possessed IAP2 Certificate in Public Participation would be considered an asset.

The incumbent will be required to maintain a valid BC Driver’s License, a clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening and be capable of performing heavy lifting and physical duties.

The successful applicant can expect to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and be available for evenings, weekends and statutory holidays as required for special events, programs and/or services. The position’s rate of pay will range from $24.50 - $27.50, including an exceptional benefit package. The incumbent’s pay rate will be determined based upon a combination of relevant education and experience.
