Manager of Finance and Corporate Services
The Village of Fruitvale (BC) is searching for a Manager of Finance and Corporate Services (MFCS). The ideal candidate will have an accounting designation, business degree or certification in public financial administration, or, a related discipline. Experience should include 5 years within public or municipal financial administration, preferably with three at a management level, including a strategic financial planning role.
The MFCS is responsible for the statutory duties assigned under the Community Charter and Local Government Act, planning, coordinating, implementing, safeguarding and directing all aspects of the Village’s financial accounting, capital management, budget internal controls, performance measures and reporting requirements. The MFCS possesses a sound understanding of municipal financial administration requirements for the public sector and has the necessary hallmarks of a treasurer; a strong commitment to accountability, financial integrity and ethical conduct. Demonstrated planning and/or risk management expertise is also an asset.
As a key member of the management team and reporting directly to the CAO, the MFCS also has the responsibility to offer financial advice and guidance to Council. Responsible for all matters involving financial obligations of the Village, the MFCS is also prepared to be acting CAO as required.
