Engineering Technician IV - Development Services

Regular Full Time Position 


The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced engineering professional to join our Engineering Department.  Working in the Development Services Section, the successful candidate will be involved in various activities related to the approval and inspection of road works, sewer, water, drainage, and other utilities installed to service subdivisions and development projects.  The work of the Engineering Technician IV involves field and office assignments including project management, inspection of construction projects; reports of activities undertaken; liaison with the public or consultants; preparation of conceptual, preliminary and final design drawings; and contract administration.
 
Requirements include a two year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution; a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience; eligibility for membership in ASTTBC; a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License and a personal vehicle available for use as and when required, and conversant with computer based engineering applications including AutoCAD.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
 
This is a C.U.P.E.
