Planning Technician

The City of Revelstoke is currently seeking interested candidates for a Planning Technician position in the Development Services Department for a six month term with possibility for extension. Revelstoke is currently experiencing high development interest. With new hotels, multi-family developments, a 100+ year old downtown, increasing tourism, and a healthy industrial sector, planning in Revelstoke is anything but ordinary! This position will be ideal for a candidate who is confident in a fast-paced, multi-faceted planning environment.  
 
Revelstoke and Area, with an estimated population of just over 8,000 (12,000+ in winter) has built a reputation for community living in a spectacular and historic mountain setting. The ideal candidate will have a degree accredited by the Canadian Institute of Planners and a minimum six months related work experience or a post-secondary qualification related to planning and two years of work experience. The position falls within the CUPE 363 Collective Agreement, with a 35 hour work week, and hourly wage of $34.07 per hour.
