The City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Lifeguard/Instructor. The incumbents will carry out lifeguarding/instructional duties and will be responsible for the supervision and control of activities, safety standards, and cleanliness of aquatic facilities.
Applicants will have completed grade 10, and have the following qualifications:
- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
- C.P.R. “C” Certification • National Lifeguard Certification - Pool Option
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Experience teaching aquafit classes is considered an asset.
This is a unionized position. $20.35 per hour - after Probation (Jan 2018 Rate), based on a 40 hour work week. A comprehensive benefit package is included. Extensive weekend and evening work may be required in addition to weekday shifts.
