Supervisor - Crisis Intervention


The City of North Vancouver – Police Administration Department at the RCMP Detachment requires a regular full-time Supervisor - Crisis Intervention.
 
You will implement and supervise the Detachment Crisis Intervention and Victim Services program and ensure service delivery conforms to program guidelines and objectives.  You will also orient, train and supervise Crisis Intervention employees and ensure these employees are familiar and compliant with Victim Services legislation and policies.  As a working supervisor, you will also perform crisis intervention work and participate in the delivery of crisis intervention and victim services to victims and witnesses of crime and/or trauma, in cases such as sudden deaths, suicides, family disputes, domestic assaults, and assist with next-of-kin notifications; provide follow up on referrals from a police investigation or community resource; and coordinate with other community and social agencies on matters related to program delivery.
 
You have a university degree in Social Work or Psychology, training and experience in crisis intervention and victim support services, and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Supervisory experience in crisis intervention and victim services is required, along with demonstrated experience in a leadership role. 
 
Additional requirements include:
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
  • Your own reliable transportation for which remuneration will be provided.
  • A declaration being free of conflicts of interest with other activities outside of crisis intervention employment (eg. activities involving an overlap of client groups, working with offenders while working with victims of crime, etc.).
 
You will also be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.
 
Salary:
$35.74 to $42.20 per hour
(Pay Grade 24 – January 2018 rates)
 
Hours of Work:
Any seven (7) consecutive hours exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break, between the hours of 7:00am and 11:00pm, any five (5) consecutive days of seven (7).  The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
