Our Recreation Department is currently looking for self-motivated, responsible, energetic and enthusiastic Recreation Leader for Children Services with strong interpersonal skills. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by a supervisor in terms of effectiveness of instruction and services provided and conformance to established practices.
 
This is recreation work that involves instructing/facilitating programs and services, preparing individual program plans and promoting interest and encouraging participation in program activity. Duties are performed within established guidelines but independent action and initiative is exercised on individual aspects of the programs. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated by a supervisor in terms of effectiveness of instruction, services provided and conformance to established practices.
 
The requirements for this position are:  1. Six (6) months full-time equivalent experience working with Children 12 and under in a recreation or related setting 2. Minimum of two post-secondary, three credit courses related to Childhood Development 3. BCRPA High Five Training 4. Standard First Aid (required prior to start date) 5. Food Safe (required prior to start date) 6. Valid Class 5 or 7 Drivers License
 
The 2018 rate of pay for this casual position is $22.36 per hour (plus of 12% in lieu of benefits).  The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.
