Are you looking for a progressive career maintaining the operation of the City’s water supply system?

As a member of the Utility Plants team, you will be responsible for operational and maintenance work involving the operation of equipment related to the supply and storage of water. Tasks include inspecting, servicing and maintaining equipment; recording operational data; performing readings of water meters; and maintaining buildings and surrounding grounds.

Qualifications include Grade 12 and a valid Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP) in Water Distribution - Level 1 for Operator 1 positions; Level 2 for Operator 2 positions; and Level 3 for Operator 3 positions.  Minimum experience requirements as specified by the EOCP in Water Distribution Level 1, 2, or 3 certification.  A strong mechanical aptitude as well as knowledge of the operation of pumps, motors and valves, basic mechanical/electrical systems and Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines are required to perform the duties of this position. A team player, you are able to perform physically demanding work, demonstrate a commitment to safety, and deliver customer service excellence. A full privilege class 5 BC driver’s license is also required.  Note:  Candidates with higher EOCP certification levels will be given first consideration.

This full-time position offers a starting wage of $30.65 – $33.69 per hour, plus an excellent pension and benefits package.
