Police Communications and Planning Manager

We are currently looking for a seasoned Communications professional to develop and implement both internal and external communications strategies for the Coquitlam RCMP Detachment.  

The successful candidate will lead and work with our Communications and Public Affairs Team (CPAT) consisting of police media designates and municipal communications professionals. This work includes providing strategic communications advice to the detachment, preparing media releases, coordinating media and special events/press conferences, managing crisis communications, developing public education and marketing initiatives that promote policing efforts and successes, and maintaining the Coquitlam RCMP web presence and social media channels.  

In addition to the Communications function, you will lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of the detachment’s strategic and business planning process aligning RCMP priorities with those of the municipalities served.  

This position is also an integral part of a dynamic senior management team and this manager lends their strong human and financial resource management skills to support the development and leadership of section supervisors.

This exciting role requires a professional equipped with a relevant degree and five to seven years’ of progressive, related experience. As an accomplished and creative communicator and writer, you are able to quickly assimilate knowledge and adapt to a continually evolving environment.
