Working under the direction of the Public Works Foreman, the Utility Operator will be required to perform all duties currently undertaken by the Village’s Public Works Department.
Specifically, the incumbent will have demonstrated experience in the operation of equipment and maintenance of municipal public works related to water, sewer, building facilities (including HVAC), roads (including snow plowing) and parks infrastructure.
The ideal candidate must have excellent multi-tasking, communication and organizational abilities and diverse talents in trade related skills. Certification in water and sewer systems operation is essential. Certification or demonstrated skills in a trade or vocation such as electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, building systems maintenance or pneumatic/ instrumentation maintenance is preferred.
This is a full - time 40-hr work week position including a wage of $32.04/hr. and an accompanying benefits package as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.
Competence in the use of construction tools, thorough knowledge of municipal infrastructure, and knowledge of WorkSafe safety regulations.
EOCP Water Distribution Level 1 Classification (minimum)
EOCP Waste Water Collection Level 1 Classification
EOCP Waste Water Treatment Level 1 Classification (minimum)
Valid BC drivers license with air brake endorsement
Certification or demonstrated skills in a trade or vocation such as electrical, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, building systems, painting or pneumatic/instrumentation maintenance.
