Regular Full- time (1 position) and Temporary Full-time (12 months) (1 position)

As a member of our Engineering and Public Works Transportation team, you will review the transportation component of development applications for commercial, residential or mixed land use sites; review site plans to verify compliance with subdivision and servicing bylaw and provide comments on submitted plans; liaise with other municipal departments to ensure that transportation comments are addressed; prepare documents summarizing findings and specifying requirements. In addition, the incumbent will conduct research on municipal transportation issues and matters pertaining to new and on-going transportation projects; prepare and coordinate surveys and analyze results and prepare reports outlining findings, options and proposals.
Along with a team-player attitude and relevant experience, you have a diploma in an appropriate discipline such as civil engineering technology or urban planning from a recognized institute of technology, preferable certification or eligibility for certification as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) from the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC. Strong computer abilities, attention to detail and accuracy, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A valid driver’s license is required.
The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $37.23 -$43.95, plus a competitive benefits package.
