Building Service Worker – Lead Hand

Help manage our Building Service Worker (BSW) crews as Lead Hand. In this leadership role, you will oversee and coordinate janitorial workers’ activities. This includes assigning janitorial work to employees and identifying staff development and training needs. Regularly inspect assigned buildings for cleanliness and work performed in order to ensure conformance to the proper specifications and standards. Provide training and guidance to BSW staff and regularly report to and coordinate with the Supervisor for all matters including day-to-day operations, larger projects and more.
Qualified applicants will have the following:
This position requires at least two years’ janitorial experience and a Building Service Worker Certificate. You must also possess a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia. Candidates with supervisory experience or coursework are preferred.
Preferred qualifications:
Blood Borne Pathogen Certificate, First Aid / Occupational First Aid, Floor Care Technician Certificate, Carpet Care Technician Certificate and First Aid (OFA Level 1) Certificate.
