CAMA’s National Conference Just Days Away
After a year of planning, Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), City Managers and senior municipal employees from across Canada are just days away from gathering in Fredericton, NB for the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) national conference.

Taking place from May 28-30, 2018, the theme for this three-day professional development event is “Maximizing Opportunity – Mitigating Risk”. The event will feature keynote speakers, study tours, plenary sessions, networking/social events, and an interactive tradeshow, among other activities.

A variety of pre-conference activities are planned for May 28.  These include a pre-conference workshop about infrastructure asset awareness and education, as well as the association’s annual golf tournament and local tours.  There will also be a Provincial/ Territorial Association meeting, a president’s reception for sponsors and exhibitors, as well as a first time delegates’ reception.  The day ends with the Conference opening reception.

Long Service Awards will be presented at the noon-time luncheon.  This will be followed by two concurrent sessions for delegates to choose from:  “Securing the Smart Municipality” and “Adapting to Climate Change: Increasing Cities Resilience.”  Following a break, two more concurrent sessions will be held:  “Enterprise Risk Management for Local Government” and “Smart City Visions and Strategies (Infrastructure and Communities).”

The day will end with a young professionals’ reception, a Big City networking reception, and a Maritime Kitchen Party … an ever popular Down East experience.
