Welcome Message from Conference Partner!

We welcome all participants to the 40th Annual Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia!  This conference provides an excellent opportunity for municipal administrators from across the country to network, share best practices, challenges and ideas, and attend informative sessions.

In working closely with our 55 municipalities, Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations appreciates the hard work administrators do for their municipality and the people who live there.  Thank you for your dedication and commitment to public service and for the work that you do for families in your community.

Along with attending this informative conference, we do hope that participants take some time to explore our historic city and its surrounding area.

See you in May!

Changing Employers? … What are the Pension Implications?

Changing employers can be an exciting time – full of questions to ask and de cisions to make.  This task is certainly made more challenging by the need to understand and compare pension plans.  You will have several questions and it is often difficult to find a knowledgeable person to assist you.

Knowing this, CAMA has initiated a partnership with the pension experts at Aon Hewitt.  Aon Hewitt's Pension Portability Checklist can assist you in understanding the key differences between the pension plans of your existing and prospective employers and addressing questions such as:  How might my retirement plans need to change? and How might changing plans affect my take home pay?

The Pension Portability Checklist will not answer all your pension questions.  Therefore, as a CAMA member, you are also entitled to one hour of free consultation with a representative from Aon Hewitt to assist you in completing the Checklist and answering related questions. Check out the Pension Portability Checklist in the CAMA Members Section.
