Trail Construction at Burke Mountain Creek

The City of Coquitlam requests Proposals from professional, qualified, experienced companies for the provision of Trail Construction at Burke Mountain Creek to provide a trail system that reduces injury risk and encourages a positive health lifestyle.

To be considered, Proponents should have specialized trail and fence construction experience and have successfully completed trail construction projects within environmentally sensitive areas in the last five (5) years.

Printing of RFP documents and drawings is the sole responsibility of the Proponents.

Non-mandatory Site Visit
A non-mandatory site visit is scheduled for:

Proponents are to meet at the corner of David Avenue and Princeton Avenue, Coquitlam, BC and be prepared to walk the full length of the trail. Questions arising as a result of the site visit are to be submitted in writing sent by email to: and verbal information should not be relied upon.

RFP Closing Date and Time
Proposals will be received on or before 2:00 pm local time Thursday, January 17, 2019.

Please note that the Purchasing Department will be closed December 24, 2018 to January 1, 2019. Queries will be reviewed after January 1, 2019. City operations will remain in full service.

The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Proposals and the lowest or any Proposal may not necessarily be accepted. The City also reserves the right to cancel any request for Proposals at any time without recourse by the Proponent.

Proposals will not be opened in public.

The City reserves the right of negotiate concurrently with the highest ranked proponent(s).

The City will not be responsible for any costs incurred by Proponents in preparing the Proposal.

Procurement of goods and services is conducted in accordance with Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) and the New West Partnership Trade Agreement (NWPTA).
