Community Wildfire Protection Plan
Risk Assessment and Hazard Mitigation Options Project
The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) requests proposals from qualified and experienced proponents to update the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District’s Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
The proposed Area of Interest (AOI) is a total of 51,156.06 hectares which encompasses the Wildland Urban Interface areas within the Alberni Valley and Electoral Areas A, B, D, E, and F (Alberni Valley, Bamfield, Sarita, Kildonan, Haggards Cove, Headquarters Bay, Franklin River, and China Creek).
The AOI is inclusive of the communities of Bamfield, City of Port Alberni, and the Tseshaht, Hupacasath, Huu- ay-aht and Uchucklesaht First Nations.
The purpose of a CWPP is to identify the wildfire risks within and surrounding a community, to describe the potential consequences if a wildfire was to impact the community, and to examine possible ways to reduce the wildfire risk.

Two (2) copies of the Proposal must be submitted, in their entirety, as per the “Proposal Format”, in a SEALED envelope clearly marked with the Proponent’s name and address AND also clearly marked “REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS – “COMMUNITY WILDFIRE PROTECTION PLAN UPDATE”.
Proposals must be received no later than 12:00 pm local time September 14th, 2018 at the following closing location:

Faxed submissions or emailed (electronic) submissions will NOT be accepted.
The lowest or any Proposal will not necessarily be accepted. The Regional District reserves the right to waive minor defects in any Proposal and to reject any or all Proposals, and to accept the Proposal deemed most favourable in the interest of the Regional District, having regard to price, operational criteria, technical criteria and local economic impact.
