Lumby and IUOE 115 Sign MOA for First Collective Agreement

Village of Lumby

LUMBY – Village of Lumby Mayor and Council have authorized a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that will set the terms to draft a first collective agreement with International Union Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 115 for the period from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2021.

The municipal employees who are covered by the collective agreement will see incremental wage increases, which total 8.5 per cent, distributed through the five-year term.

“We were encouraged by both parties working hard to reach an MOA for this first agreement in Lumby,” said Mayor Kevin Acton. “Mayor and Council appreciate the effort and collaborative good will that was shown by both the Village administration and IUOE members to achieve this agreement.”

I want to commend the Village of Lumby team for their cooperative approach to the bargaining process, and especially thank the proud members of the IUOE Local 115 within the Village for their solidarity and support. We feel the Agreement is fair and shall provide long term stability for both our members and the Village. I look forward to a strong partnership with the Village of Lumby team and encourage you to learn more about us at www.iuoe115.ca
