A BIG Difference for BC: Using Behavioural Insights to Encourage Positive Behavioural Change

BC Behavioural Insights Group, UBC Sauder's Decision Insights for Business and Society, WorkSafeBC
A BIG Difference for BC 2020 Conference

BIG Difference BC is a highly anticipated regional conference celebrating behavioural science in all its forms. The event brings together behavioural insights experts from government, academia, non-profit organizations, and industry to share case studies, best practices, and lessons learned. This is the fourth conference and it’s shaping-up to be a great one!
This year the event will be co-hosted by the BC Behavioural Insights Group, Decision Insights for Business and Society at UBC Sauder, and WorkSafeBC. Together we are excited to present a fully virtual and free program on Using Behavioural Insights to Encourage Positive Behaviour Change.
Join us for a full day of behavioural science on November 6, 2020.
Keynote Speaker
Our keynote speaker will be Eldar Shafir. Dr. Shafir is a psychologist who studies decision-making, cognitive science, and behavioral economics in the areas of poverty and behavioural public policy. He’s the Class of 1987 Professor of Behavioral Science and Public Policy at Princeton University, the Inaugural Director of Princeton’s Kahneman-Treisman Center for Behavioral Science and Public Policy, and co-founder and scientific director at ideas42. You might also know him from a popular book he co-authored called Scarcity: Why Having too Little Means so Much.

Call for Submissions We want to hear from you! Our conference program features a small number of lightning talks (15-20 min each) and digital posters. Do you have an ongoing or recently completed project that uses behavioural insights? Does this project encourage positive behavior change that benefits the individual decision-maker or society? If so, consider being a part of our conference program. For details on the submission process, please visit bigdifferencebc.ca/call.
The deadline for submissions is August 7, 2020.
