Local Government Management Association of BC is pleased
to announce that the third edition of the
Records Management Manual for Local Government is now available
for purchase across Canada.
The third
edition has been completely rewritten and emphasizes standards
for records management and incorporates best practices
with electronic records, including emails. In addition,
the classification and retention schedule has been reviewed
and updated current to July 1, 2006, incorporating all
statutory changes in British Columbia.
The standards-based
approach reflects the adopted International Organization
for Standardization, ISO 15489 Information and Documentation – Records
Management – Part 1 – General and Part 2 – Guidelines.
